ABSTRACT

Purposes: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of ultrasound (US)-, computed tomography (CT)-, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Materials and Methods: This retrospective study included 141 patients with HCC who were treated with US-guided (n = 29), CT-guided (n = 50), or MRI-guided RFA (n = 62). The primary endpoint was progression-free survival (PFS). The secondary endpoints included overall survival (OS), technique success (TS), and technique efficacy (TE). Cox model and logistic regression were used to determine the risk factors for tumor recurrence and TE. Results: The US, CT, and MRI groups did not show a significant difference in terms of baseline variables. The three groups did not differ significantly in PFS rate (P = 0.072) and OS rate (P = 0.231). The PFS rates at 3 years for the US, CT, and MRI groups were 40.90%, not reached, and 14.80%, respectively. The OS rates at 3 years were 94.70%, 97.50%, and 85.50% for US, CT, and MRI groups, respectively. No significant differences were observed between the three groups in terms of TS rate (P = 0.113) and TE rate (P = 0.682). In multivariate analysis, liver cirrhosis (P = 0.001), level of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP, P = 0.004), and number of tumors (P = 0.012) were independent risk factors for PFS. For TE, the level of AFP (P = 0.018) was an independent factor. Conclusion: US-, CT-, and MRI-guided RFA was effective for treating HCC patients. Liver cirrhosis, AFP level, and tumor number were associated with tumor recurrence, and the level of AFP was an independent risk factor affecting TE

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the feasibility and clinical effect of immediate ureterovesical reimplantation after ureteral rupture during laparoscopic hysterectomy. Methods From August 2010 to December 2015, 5 cases of ureteral rupture during the operation of laparoscopic hysterectomy were treated with immediate ureterovesical reimplantation under laparoscopy. Results All operations were successfully performed without transversion to open surgery. No patients with urinary leakage occurred. The mean follow-up were 21 months (range 3-60 months) . No cases with ureteral stricture were observed. Slight urine reflux was found in two patients, of whom obvious hydronephrosis and renal damage were not found. Conclusion Immediate ureterovesical reimplantation under laparoscopy is a feasible, safe and minimal invasive method for treatment of ureteral ruputure during laparoscopic hysterectomy.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the property of genipin-crosslinked silk fibroin(SF)/chitosan(CS) microspheres for slow releasing of bovine serum albumin (BSA).

METHODSBSA-loaded genipin-crosslinked SF/CS microspheres were prepared by emulsion cross-linking technique. The micropheres were observed for surface morphology and size distribution under scanning electron microscope (SEM), and X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were used to analyze their structural characteristics. BCA method was used for determining the drug entrapment, loading rate and cumulative drug release in 21 days.

RESULTThe microspheres were spherical and showed a smooth surface with an average diameter of 7.84∓0.97 µm. The drug entrapment efficiency of the microspheres was (50.16∓4.32)% with a drug loading ratio of (1.25∓0.11)% and a cumulative release of the total drug of (75.2∓2.53)% in 21 days.

CONCLUSIONGenipin-crosslinked SF/CS microspheres have a high drug entrapment efficiency and possess good capacity of sustained drug release.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate distingwished clinical and experimental characteristics of the four main subtypes in myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms (MDS/MPNs).MethodsMDS/MPNs 53 cases from Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University, including 24 cases CMML,13 cases aCML,12 cases JMML,4 cases MDS/MPN-U,were analyzed regarding to 2001 WHO classification.Morphology (M) of peripheral and bone marrow blood cells were observed under microscope.FCM was used in immunological(Ⅰ) analyse on blasts and myelomonocytes in peripheral blood and bone marrow.G-banding technique was used in cytogenetic (C)examination.PCR was used in molecular genetic (M) mutation detection.Numeric data, such as mean Hb,WBC,PLT et al,among several groups, were compared using Single-factor analysisof variance.Student-Newman-Keulstestwasuseincomparingmeansof two groups.Proportions, such as percentage of clinical features, immunological and cytogenetic abnormal cases among different groups, were compared using Chi-square test or Fisher exact test. Results( 1 ) In the course of MDS/MPNs,there were 46 cases (86.8% ) had paleness and fatigue 33 cases (62.5% ) had palpable spleen.JMML had most fever and enlargement of lymph node (75.0%,75.0% ),statistically distinguished from CMML ( 12.5%,12.5% ) (x2 =14.89,17.98,P < 0.05 ).(2) The hemoglobin was ( 83.1 ± 24.6 ) g/L.WBC counts were ( 19.8 ± 8.1 ) × 109/L.PLT counts were ( 158.7 ± 108.2) x 109/L.Immature neutrophils and blasts were found in peripheral blood.(3)JMML and CMML had most monocytes absolute counts among the subtypes (4.25 ±0.76) (3.62 ±0.76).(4) Almost 100% JMML had monocytes abnormalities.(5)For 15 cases were detected immunological characteres by FCM,13 cases showed abnormalities.(6)For 29 cases of MDS/MPNs had been analyzed chromosome karyotypes and 12 out of them (41.4%) were abnormal,Ph chromosomes and those AML-defining translocations were all negative,+ 8 and 7-involved- karyotypes were more frequent.(7)23 cases were detected molecular genetic features,in which were all negative.BCR/ABL1 and JAK2 V617F mutation were all negative in the 13 cases of aCML.JAK2 V617F mutation was positive in 1 case of MDS/MPN-U.ConclusionsMost MDS/MPNs had paleness and fatigue, light to mild anemia, cytosis, monocytes low grade of blast and immature neutrophils in peripheral blood with dysplasia in bone marrow.JMML seems has more severe clinical features and more distinguishing laboratory characters.Immunological abnormalities and abnormalkaryotypes are found frequently in MDS/MPNs with no statistical differences among the four subtypes. There is no specific molecular abnormals in MDS/MPNs.( Chin J Lab Med,2012,35:832-837)

ABSTRACT

Objective: To evaluate the reliability and validity of the inventory of experience of close relationship-revised version (ECR-R).Methods:286 college students were collected for testing the internal consistency and structure validity of the inventory. Test-retest reliability was founded in 31 students. Criteria validity was also studied in 32 cases with anxiety neurosis. Results: The Cronbach ? of the ECR-R and its two subscales (anxiety and avoidance) were 0.87, 0.86 and 0.81 respectively. The test-retest reliabilities of them were 0.75, 0.82 and 0.61 respectively. The two subscales had good discriminating ability and were confirmed by factor analysis, anxiety and avoidance could explain 21.28 and 11.20 of the total variance. Conclusion: The ECR-R is psychometrically acceptable and may be applied to study attachment of Chinese adolescents.
